Results of President Nazarbayev Visit to Germany.
In course of his visit to Germany the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev had a meeting with the Federal Chancellor of the Federative Republic of Germany Angela Merkel.
Having thanked the Federal Chancellor for traditionally warm welcome of Kazakhstani Delegation in German land, the President noted that current year for our states is noticeable for a significant event – 20th anniversary from the date of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Germany. Twenty years ago Kazakhstan and Germany chose the way of dialogue, constructive cooperation and respect.
During the meeting Nursultan Nazarbayev and Angela Merkel discussed the whole spectrum of Kazakhstani-German partnership, underlining significant promotion of bilateral cooperation in policy, economy, science and education, as well as sufficient growth of goods turnover between the two states.

The parties also stated activation of multilateral cooperation on global issues of international policy solution.
In this respect, Nursultan Nazarbayev declared that opening and activity of Berlin Eurasian Club shall contribute into achievement of those tasks that are set by our states within the system of global policy. Berlin Eurasian Club is called to become the first dialogue platform of Kazakhstan in Europe to discuss such urgent issues as bilateral interaction, regional security, processes of Eurasian integration, energy and raw materials cooperation.
In the end of the meeting of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev with the FRG Chancellor Angela Merkel in presence of the Leaders of the two states a ceremony of signing of the Treaty between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the FRG Government on partnership in the spheres of raw materials, industry and technologies.
According to the leaders of the two states, signing of the intergovernmental treaty on partnership in the spheres of raw materials, industry and technologies opens extended options for the economies of the RK and the FRG. German companies shall be able to investigate and develop Kazakhstani fields, construct factories on conversion and processing of raw material resources, as well as to produce goods for further exporting also including the markets of the Customs Union and Single Economic Space. Newest German technologies can be widely implemented in Kazakhstani economy, which is especially important in relation with the accomplishment in Kazakhstan of the State Program for Forced Industrial-Innovational Development.
Nursultan Nazarbayev evaluated the visit of Kazakhstani delegation to the FRG as quite successful. In the frameworks of the visit the heads of economy establishments of the RK and the FRG also signed a number of other agreements, concluded about half hundred commercial contract for the total amount of few billions USD. “This is a real breakthrough”, - underlined the President of Kazakhstan.
The Federal Chancellor of the FRG Angela Merkel also evaluated highly the results of the talks held. She considers, that opening of Berlin Eurasian Club is a significant event, and the Customs Union and Single Economic Space shall cooperate fruitfully in future with the European Union. The Federal Chancellor of FRG also noted that in the result of elections held in Kazakhstan, now three political parties are represented in the Parliament.
N.A. Nazarbayev and A. Merkel were unanimous in the opinion on the necessity of further overwhelming cooperation and interaction of the two states.
Nursultan Nazarbayev also held a number of bilateral meetings with the Head of leading economic unions, banks and companies of the FRG, which are actively involved into the process of bilateral trade-economic cooperation.
During the talk with the President of Kazakhstan the Chairman of the Eastern Committee of German Economy K. Mangold, Vice-President of the Federal Union of German Industry Ulrich Grillo, ex-Chancellor of Germany – the Chairman of Supervisory Board of "North European Gas Pipeline Company" ("North Stream") Gerhard Schröder, as well as the members of the Board of Directors of "Deutsche Bank" Peter Tils, German railway "Deutsche Bahn" Karl-Friedrich Rausch, company "Linde AG" Georg Denoke presented their vision and conceptual view on further strengthening and development of mutually beneficial cooperation of the two states.
Heads of German companies with satisfaction underlined defense of rights and interests of business in Kazakhstan assured by the state, interrelated with the state policy led in the republic, which results into sufficient promotion of investment climate. It is proved by the dynamic of improvement of Kazakhstan positions within international business ratings “Doing Business”, and also annual increase of goods turnover between the RK and the FRG.
Special comments were given to the spirit of mutual trust and transparency of business relations, prevailing within bilateral relations. German business observes as a great achievement and the leading role of the Leader of Kazakhstan within positive changes and reforms taking place in the country.
In its turn the President of Kazakhstan thanked the Head of German companies for cooperation. The head of the states called for a more intensive implementation of possessing reserves and potential of interaction, which are not at all exhausted. Wide options in this sense are opened by the State program of Forced Industrialization of the Republic.
Foreign investors of the state are being comprehensively supported.
There are many mechanisms for the accomplishment of common business-ideas in the sectors of real economy.
The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev also called German businessmen to use dialogue platforms of the Council of Foreign Investors, which includes two representatives of the FRG, Kazakhstani-German Business Council, as well as Astana Economic Forum.
In Berlin castle “Bellevue” the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev met the Federal President of FRG Christian Wolf.
During the meeting they discussed various issues of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany.
The President of Kazakhstan noted that today Germany is one of the main partners of Kazakhstan in Europe, and Kazakhstan is a leading economic partner of the FRG in Central Asia. The dialogue of the two states is of open and confidence character, active bilateral contacts are maintained at all levels. Kazakhstan is quite interested in the experience of Germany on development of renewable sources of energy, introduction of energy-saving technologies, interaction in the issues of health system.
They had an exchange of opinions on key regional and global matters, issues of support of international security.
The Head of the state Nursultan Nazarbayev met former Federal President of the FRG Horst Köhler.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noticed that from the very beginning of independence Germany has been actively contributed into the development of the country.
“We have great potential to extend cooperation in policy, economy and culture. Contacts at top level are being maintained, as well as between the Parliaments, Ministries, Institutions and business-communities. Quality and scope of the agenda of Kazakhstani-German relations allow us considering the possibility of our strategic partnership”, - underlined the Head of the state.
H. Köhler in his turn noted that the prospects of bringing of bilateral relations at strategic level are quite high, and not only in the sphere of energy.
“Kazakhstan is observed by Germany as a stable state where they hold logical political and economic reforms. Your recent message clearly states the intention of Kazakhstan to diversify its economy, develop small and medium business. As our practice shows new working places occur exactly in this sphere”, - said H. Köhler.
