Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Kh. Kazykhanov makes his first official visit to the USA in the end of January – beginning of February this year, reported on Mondayan official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Altaj Abibullayev.
“This visit shall take place January 30th – February 1st under the invitation of the Secretary of State of the USA Hilary Clinton”, - said Abibullayev during the briefing.
According to the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the visit Kazykhanov shall meet the US Secretary of State and other officials in Washington, as well as the representative of citizens, business of the USA and leading American Mass Media.
By this, Abibullayev said that Kazykhanov and Clinton shall discuss the oncoming meeting of the President of Kazakhstan and the USA Nursultan Nazarbayev and Barak Obama in course of the second summit on nuclear security to be held in Seoul in the second half of March this year.
“Naturally the meeting of the Heads of States shall be in the center of focus of the oncoming visit of the Head of our Ministry”, - underlined the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to him it is expected that during the meeting Kazykhanov and Clinton also shall discuss the “total complex of Kazakhstani-American cooperation in political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, the issues of assurance of energy and food security, as well as the prospects of diversification of economic development of our country in the frameworks of scientific- technical collaboration”.

“The parties shall exchange views within a wide range of issues of international agenda, particularly on Afghanistan” – continued Abibullayev.
As per information of the representative person of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Head of Kazakhstani foreign political body shall also participate in the number of civil events, including the Conference of Atlantic Council, devoted to the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan independence and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states.
“Minister shall take part in the events of American-Kazakhstani business association, within the frameworks of the visit of Yerzhan Kh. Kazykhanov to Washington expected is the presentation of English version of Jonathan Aitken book “Kazakhstan: Surprises and Stereotypes. 20 years of Independence” with participation of famous and popular American civil-political activists”, - added Abibullayev.
According to him, the first official visit of the Head of foreign political body of Kazakhstan this year is called to strengthen the new stage of strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the USA on current international and regional issues.
“The visit to Washington shall take place within an important moment for Kazakhstan, which underlines the significance of relations with the USA”, - noted the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to Kazakhstan foreign policy institution the USA maintains the status of one of the biggest trade partners of Kazakhstan. For 11 months of 2011 goods turnover between Kazakhstan and the United States of America comprised 2.5 billion dollars (export – 1 billion dollars, import – 1.5 billion dollars) since 1993 till September 2011 the total scope of American investments into the economy of Kazakhstan has covered 15 billion dollars.
