Criminal Murder Case was Initiated in Austria against Rakhat Aliyev

Austrian Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation of the crimes in which Kazakhstan blames its ex-Ambassador Rakhat Aliyev. Earlier several times Vienna has refused Astana to extradite Aliyev.

Austrian Prosecutor’s Office has launched the investigation of the fact of murders and acts of kidnapping of people. Astana blames its ex-Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Austria and the OSCE Rakhat Aliyev. As the representative of the Justice Ministry in Vienna Christian Pilnacek stated on Monday July 11th the case was initiated previous week, reports the web site of  Wiener Zeitung newspaper.

After the General Prosecutor’s Office of Kazakhstan announced in May that the bodies of the two top-managers of “Nurbank” were found, in murders of whom Aliyev is being blamed, Austrian authorities refused to extradite the ex-Ambassador to the motherland.

However, forensic enquiry performed by German specialists, according to the lawyers of the widows of the murdered top-managers Gabriel Lansky, proves the evidences of witnesses and clearly point on the criminals, which can affect the attitude of Austrian judicial bodies towards Aliyev. Earlier Lansky has stated that three or four accessories of the crimes of Aliyev live in Austria. New information and progress of Austrian Prosecutor’s Office let him hope that soon the case shall be solved.

Meanwhile as Austrian newspaper Der Standard writes Aliyev himself evidently left Austria’s lands long ago. Malta is called as the probable place of his stay. However, the lawyers of the ex-Ambassador and ex son-in-law of Kazakhstani President, according to the newspaper, don’t even know the continent he resides within now.
