A wounded woman emerges from the rubble of a bombed out apartment building shortly after it was attacked in the city of Stepanakert in the disputed territory of the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. The city was routinely attacked by fighter aircraft from Azerbaijan after the it fell under Armenian control in 1991. There has been an unofficial but observed cease-fire in place since 1994.
