Exports from Poland to Uzbekistan exceeds $83 million for 7 months

Trade turnover between Poland and Uzbekistan in January-July this year reached $98.5 million, which is by 18% more than last year, reported Mezon.uz referring to first counselor of Polish Embassy in Tashkent Slavomir Strzalkowski.

 

According to him, 85% of trade between two countries accounts for Polish exports and amounted to $83.8 million for 7 months this year.

 

More than a third of total export accounted for supply of cattle, 22% are cars, machinery, about 19% production of chemical products, more than 8% products of plant origin, about 7% cooked food. In total Poland exports products of seventeen commodity groups to Uzbekistan.

 

Volume of Uzbek export to Poland increased by 22% to $14.8 million. 35% of Uzbek export accounts for mineral products, 30% cotton and its processed products, about 21% chemical products, more than 10% cooked food.

 

Strzalkowski noted that Polish business is interested in expanding business ties with Uzbekistan. A meeting of Uzbek-Polish intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation will take place next month. The meeting will focus on revitalization and diversification of bilateral trade, prospects for financial investment cooperation, partnership in the field of agriculture, construction materials and pharmaceuticals.

 

Uzbek-Polish business forum with participation of representatives of business circles of two countries will be held as part of the intergovernmental meeting.
